YourMacShow – 09
This week on your Mac show. We have a very special guest Joe Workman. Who is a Mac app developer best known for his work on stacks for Rapid Weaver.
But first we dive into our Mini Series: iTunes
Mac Security – Passwords
First of all, Use common sense. Create good strong passwords. So how do we do this?
1-None Dictionary Words
2-Use Letters both Caps and lower case
3-Numbers
4-Symbols
OK, so how do you remember these passwords? Well use 1Password.
However you will still need to remember the 1 password. Make this a phrase…something you will remember.
For example:
“I Love living in the Bay Area”
Now use the 1st Letter of each word…
ILLITBA Now thats pretty good.
Now use the “Split the alphabet”
26 total letters divide them in half
1-13 A thru M (Upper Case)
15-26 n thru z (lower Case)
Same Password now looks like this:
“I Love living in the Bay Area”
ILLInBA (note the lower case “n”)
Now add a number or 2 and you are in good shape.
Check out 1Password here
We look at Busy Cal versus iCal. More Next Week.
